ID cards to be made mandatory for withdrawal of pension

KOHIMA: The Nagaland Pensioners Association (NPA) in its general meeting held on November 23 has finalized compulsory introduction of Identity card-D with the view to eliminate fake pensioners/family pensioners. 

This latest initiative will be in collaboration with the government of Nagaland. It will be now mandatory to produce this ID card while drawing pension money. 

The NPA informed that issuing of Identity card- S for security purpose will continue for those who have not got one. 

The association has also decided a time frame for its implementation. All pensioners/ family pensioners can retrieve the Identity Card-D and necessary information from its respective district unit NPA office latest by March, 2006. 

It further informed that withdrawal of pension will be based on production of Identity Card-D w.e.f April, 2006. 

The NPA also constituted its new office bearers during the general meeting.
