DIMAPUR, APRIL 5 (MExN): A ‘Joint Political Alliance’ meeting of the NSCN-K (Khango), NSCN/GPRN (Akato), Z Royim led NNC (Parent Body) and Mhathung Tsopoe led NPGN/NNC/NA (MK) was held on April 4 with officials and members from the 4 Naga Political Groups, led by their respective collective leaders, attending the meet.

According to a press release issued by Media Cell, Joint Naga Political Alliance, the meeting deliberated on why a joint alliance was necessitated at this juncture, and committed to “carrying on with the legacy of legendary Naga leaders founding Naga fathers.”

The collective leaders also reminded the congregation that Nagas were a sovereign people since time immemorial, and also acknowledged the contributions made by Naga pioneers.

It may be recalled that on December 2023 last, the three NPGs namely NSCN/GPRN (Akato), Z Royim-led NNC (Parent Body), and Khango-led NSCN (K) – decided to have a “joint political venture” and engage in political talks with Government of India.

Following this, Khango-led NSCN (K) signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ with Mhathung Tsopoe led NPGN/NNC/NA (MK) in March this year for the “reconciliation and unity of all the Nagas including all political groups and all the stakeholders for the early peaceful political resolution.”
