Mon villages refute ownership claim over Aboi

DIMAPUR, DEC 8 (MExN): Village authorities, Chief Anghs, Chairmen, and Village Councils of four Villages from Mon district namely Chingnyu, Chinglong and Angphang Villages have strongly resisted against any claim of the Kai-he clan over Aboi town stating that basing on historical facts, all the Konyaks know who the original owners of the said land are.

“The owners of Aboi town are surprised to see the statement made by the two signatories namely Y Popa and Yanpho on behalf of the Kai-he clan of the two villages” the signatories from four villages stated in response to the news item that appeared in a section of the local media regarding the ownership of Aboi village and protest over setting up of the NAP camp at Aboi.

“They (Kai-he clan) might know the historical background of Champang (now Aboi) since all most all Konyaks knows who the original/real owner of Champang land is”.

The village authorities also made it clear that the owners of Champang (Aboi) has no objection to the establishment of any infrastructure or undertaking developmental projects for the welfare of the people of Aboi in particular and Mon district in general. “So the Kai-he clan of Wangti village and Chingkhao Chingnyu village has no voice in any manner regarding Aboi town” the signatories stated.
