NACF draws attention to deteriorating condition of Atu Ghoki (Zubza) Bridge

Niuland, April 29 (MExN): The Niuland Area Citizens Forum (NACF) has reiterated regarding the perennial bad condition of Atu Ghoki (Zubza) Bridge, which is lifeline connecting Niuland district HQ and providing connectivity to sizeable parts of Tseminyu and Wokha districts.

“The matter have been raised umpteen times to the concern Department and Ministry for redress on various platforms which seems to be unheard and unaccounted for the reasons best known to the Department/Ministry concerned,” said NACF President, Kakishe Shikhu President and Press Secretary, Soul Sema in a press statement.
It alleged that the condition of the bridge has over the years deteriorated without any major repair works and with improvement of road from Niuland to 4th Mile Junction number of vehicles taking this route has shot up in recent times substantially.

Therefore, the Forum “strongly” urged the department concerned to do the needful at the earliest so as to avoid any catastrophic disaster and any mishap arising out of the issue, the Government/Department should take full responsibility.

Further, the NACF also appealed to all the departments, agencies, NGOs and public to utilise the Niuland DHQ name as ‘Niuland’ and not ‘Nuiland/Newland’ which is incorrect and should immediately be stopped.
