Taking the message of Clean Election, the 10 Northern Angami-I AC has organised a public rally at Peraciezie junction, Kohima town on February 21.

Stressing on the importance of Clean Election Movement (CEM), Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, NDPP candidate from 10 Northern Angami-I AC, urged the public at the rally to support Clean Election as called by the churches in Nagaland.

Terming the CEM as a good initiative to curb corruption, he appreciated the initiative of the churches under his constituency to pray at the polling stations on the voting day. He maintained that there's no point fighting among the people for politics, rather he said, each person should cast his/her vote in a free and fair manner.

Also stating why he is contesting in the election, Yhome said there is a need to rebuild the trust deficit that has crept in between the politicians and the public.

With corruption eroding trust and hampering economic growth and development, Yhome asserted his desire to clean the systems of corruption slowly. “And we have to work together hand in hand towards this,” said Yhome.

With people from various states and tribes coming and living in the capital city for livelihood and education, he called on the people to be accommodative, live in peace and harmony with respect for one another.

With Kohima gradually becoming an urban city, Yhome underscored the need to develop the city. To this, he assured that if he is voted to win 'together we will build a city - beautiful in character.’

NDPP Nagaland Secretary, Kelhouneizo Yhome said the rally is not just for show but to spread the message of Clean Election to the public. “It is the duty and responsibility of every individual to stand for Clean Election,” he stated.
