Nagas are not Indians

Our forefathers said, “We are a sovereign nation by tradition.” This is an undisputed truth. All the nations in the world, including India, know that the Nagas belong to a peculiar Naga nation, and not to the Indian nation. Hence, India has no right to occupy our land and forcibly rule us. However, many Naga leaders and educated people are working against the rights of our people and our nation, acting as a faithful agent of India. On one hand, the Naga NGOs and its leaders strongly support the Naga integration demand of NSCN-IM, though India flatly rejected it and talks were held long without any outcome.

On the other hand, the NSCN-K is waiting for the end of the talks between the NSCN-IM and the GOI. Some factions say that the NNC/FGN have accepted the Indian constitution through the Shillong Accord in 1975, but they reject the claim, saying that the NNC is the only national council of the Naga people in Nagaland, and the FGN is the only established government in Nagaland.

They said that the Shillong Accord was only a political game of the signatories, and the accord was also rejected by India in the 1976 Lok Sabha. If this is true, then it is a dead accord, as said by Lt.Col. (Retd) JK. Dutt, and there is no need to bring back the dead to life.

Some NGOs, including CPO and ADO, pressed the campers to move out from the Transit Peace Camp, Kohima, but the campers replied that the camp was given to them by God, as revealed before the maintenance of the camp began. When we observe and compare the campers with the other factions, we can see that they do not enjoy a luxurious life, unlike the cadres of the other factions. There are no multi-storied buildings, no vehicles, and no money. If they (NNC/FGN) have accepted the Indian constitution, there must be implementation, for the NNC/FGN workers might have got wealth and great benefits from India.

The cadres of all the factions are Christian, and they cry, “Nagaland for Christ”, and they talk of reconciliation. However there are no results and the killing continues. Such actions will only invite the wrath of God, and people will also curse those who do not keep their word. So every national worker must eschew ill-habits, and possess pacifism as a true nationalist, so that the blood and tears of every patriotic Naga will not go in vain. Let us remember the evil deed of Cain and what he received from God as punishment. The Bible also says, “who so sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God He made man.” (Genesis 9:6)

Fellow Nagas, let us judge well upon all, and posses the truth and reality. Let us then work anew with the true nationalists who stand steadfast for the sovereign of Nagaland, which our people have pledged through the Plebiscite on 16th May, 1951. We are a nation. We Nagas are not Indians.
