Nagas should not go against the will of God

The Nagas should always remember the words of God; that is; “What My Spirit has done is, He has visited the people in the Nagaland. And they shall not be an idolatrous people that shall fall down before idols like the people of India. For I have separated Nagaland unto myself, and I have with my finger drawn a line around Nagaland, said the Lord”. This was revealed to Sister Gwen Shaw an American, while pilgrims from nearly 200 nations around the world were invoking prayer for the Naga nation when the yearly Tabernacle prayer meeting was convened in Jerusalem on October 11, 1982. The Nagas participated in that event, led by Reverend Sister Bei Lieu Angami.

As God inspired the Naga national leaders in those days 1947, the Naga National Council (NNC) declared the aged-old Independence of Nagas to the world at the right time before India and Burma became independent nations. Also, the Declaration of Independence was reaffirmed by 99.9% of the Naga people when the NNC conducted a Plebiscite on May 16, 1951. With these historic land marks, the Naga nation was founded as a sovereign and independent nation before India and Burma divided Naga nation in 1953.

However, after 1960, some educated Nagas went against the will of God and brought a statehood under the Indian Union. Again today, the NSCN groups stand against the will of God, and are negotiating with the Government of India (Go) to be under the Indian Union. Yet, the Nagas from the grassroots level and the NNC steadfastly uphold the Naga National principle enunciated with the Declaration of Independence in 1947 and the Plebiscite of 1951, which is the will of God.  This showed the fact that the whole Nagas are not on the same ship in the sea of political negotiation, as Dr Wati Aier stated in his statement, which appeared in The Morung Express on January 13, 2024.

As God has His own purpose for the Nagas, He has been protecting the Naga nations up to this day. Even if the Nagas faced ups and downs in political situations due to stubbornness to follow the path that God showed us. But we did not fail as God our Lord never forsake us. It is, therefore, the Nagas who are against the will of God, should realize and stand together with the rest of Nagas and the NNC who are unwaveringly standing with the will of God. And let us stand as a nation in one accord, speak in one voice as a nation, and talk for national issues only, but not for another political issue.  As we have already experienced going against the will of God is not a road map for the Nagas.
