The present crisis (COVID-19)being faced by the Nagaland State also has made us to realise the necessity of henceforth keeping detail records of human population living around the globe. Such statistical data will help not only during crisis management but also help in planning process, forecasting, estimation, readily knowing the whereabouts of indigenous Nagas in India(state-wise) and abroad (country-wise).
Periodical collection and categorisation of such census into different groups (for example: students, missionaries, employees in different fields, and so on) even down to the tribe-wise level,if possible, will be valuable not only for the State Government but also for others ,namely: the general public, religious organizations/councils, Hohos, and others. While doing so, the State government could solicit the assistances of different organizations (students unions, associations, religious organizations, village unions, concerned government departments etc. The recent technological advancement
(computerization/internet/social media and others) can easily facilitate such project and make it interesting as well. Why not give a try?
