“No feasible development due to lack of information”

Zunheboto, July 15 (DIPR): Zunheboto DPDB meeting was held on July 13, 2010 at DC’s Conference Hall under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice-Chairman DPDB Zunheboto, T. Kiheto. 

MLA and Chairman HHDC, Shetoyi Sema in his address lamented that in the past, there was no feasible development in the district solely because of lack of information or delayed information system. He therefore, urged the officers to be sincere in their duties and added that developmental activities be taken in time. He also referred to the Centrally Sponsored Schemes and apprised the members, that in the event of any difficulties in carrying out developmental activities, it should be made known to them.

Later, the Board reviewed the minutes of the last DPDB meeting and agendas were discussed. The Chairman highlighted that a scheme of National Awards for bravery for children were many a times ignored. He therefore called upon the members to see that bravery deeds by children are not gone waste in the district. In the matter of up-gradation of Akhuluto SDO (C) to that of ADC Hq, EAC Hq Asuto to that of SDO (C) and opening of new EAC Hq at Tuzu Island, the Board could not recommend it due to the ongoing census. The Chairman informed that it would be taken up only after April 2011. 

Construction of viewing tower at Khuixe Mountain under Lizutomi village in Aghunato sub-division and declaration of Asuto under Suruhoto sub-division was recommended to the higher authority for necessary action. The Board also recommended opening of new school, Bethany at Zunheboto, up-gardation of GHS, Sathaka to that of GHHS, Suruhoto GHS to GHSS, Government Middle School Surumi to GHS, grant-in-aid to Eden Garden School Zunheboto, Hill-boto School Sathaka were recommended to the government for necessary action. 

ADC Planning informed that the exact area of Zunheboto was not incorporated as yet, though administratively, Pughoboto comes under Zunheboto. The Board has therefore instructed LRSO Zunheboto to take up the matter for necessary action. Finally the PHED department presented their activities for the year 2009-10 to the Board.

The Chairman lauded the efforts of the department for achieving State Level Awards in March 2010 at Kohima. The DPDB meeting was followed by chalking out of Independence Day programme where different departments were entrusted to take up different works. Representatives from NGOs, different schools, paramilitary forces, police etc attended the meeting. The overall in-charge for the ensuring programme was entrusted to Govind Jaiswal (IAS) SDO (Hq) Zunheboto.
