Pray to bring leaders to dialogue table

Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): The Forum for Naga Reconciliation today reiterated its appeal to all, “including the Naga political group churches” to ‘take a moment’ to pray that God would speak to the Naga underground leaders to “to follow His command for reconciliation among all Naga political groups through repentance and forgiveness” and “highest level leaders would attend the meeting whenever FNR arranges, without fail.”

“The FNR once again, calls upon the churches, prayer centers, fellowships, including the Naga political group churches, to take a moment during worship/mass/vesper and during family devotions remembering the following prayer items: Pray that God will speak to the Naga leaders to follow His command for reconciliation among all Naga political groups through repentance and forgiveness; that the “Highest Level Leaders” will attend the meeting whenever FNR arranges, without fail; that God will remove all unwanted hurdles through His mighty power; to maintain strict adherence to the commitment of “the cessation of all offence activities (words or deeds) among the Naga political groups.”

A message from the forum received here today cited a text message from a young pastor in Dimapur to the FNR that his “church has started a 40 day mid-night prayer for the Naga reconciliation and for the meeting of the highest level leaders planned…” The text was sent on September 5, 2010, the forum said.

“FNR is very encouraged by similar messages from across Naga areas and the world. The prayers of God’s people and their tears will never go unheard.”

The forum said of God’s promises that “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7: 14, NIV). “But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.” (Malachi 4: 2)

Along with the Naga people, Christian communities from Australia, Denmark, Germany, Italy, UK, Singapore, Thailand, USA, Philippians, Burma, Finland, Sweden, Korea, Hong Kong, Cambodia, and the American Baptist Convention, African Baptist Union, European Baptist Union, Quakers, Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America and the Baptist Peace Network of the Asian Baptist Federation, will be joining the Nagas in prayers on Sunday, September 12, 2010.

“Let us, in faith, invoke God’s intervention and claim his promises with the right intention,” said the Forum for Naga Reconciliation, and wishing God’s peace over the people.
