Reservation of Quotas

Come May, the nerve chilling month for technical line aspirant students. In the past, many have had opined to review the present system of so called “Reservation of quotas” as forward and backward classes of Nagas. It is sadden to see that the plight and cry of the humiliated fellow Naga candidates falls into deaf ears. For how long should we allow our children to suffer injustice and discrimination within the same family.

The grave consequences brought forth by the system cannot simply ignore. The Government should take it as a serious issue and make some ways and means out to deliver equal justice to all Nagas without any division. God has gifted each individual with unique talent. Do not muzzle these talents for the sake of formality, rather give a space, allow it grow, bloom and bear fruits for a bright and better tomorrow. There were instances where some students vacated their allotted seat in the middle of their course and again join other stream for one reason or other. To avoid such incidence, the concern authority should implement certain strict measures to check such complication.

Since the state Government is investing huge amount to different technical colleges outside of Nagaland to obtain seats every year. In this regard, while selecting candidates, preference given in their application should also be taken into account.

As far as the present Naga society is concern, everyone is enjoying equal rights and opportunity in every aspect of life. Definitely there was a time in the past where certain section of our people who excel better than their counterpart. But now the life of Nagas has been changed dramatically with the changing of time. We are not inferior to none. It’s a high time for all Nagas to get same treatment as a family.
