Chaired by Khriehutuo Tsira, Senior State Sports, YRS, and graced by Vikhoto Richa, SDO (Civil) Noklak as the special guest, the opening program set the tone for a day of spirited competition. K Langshen, Pastor of Baptist Church Thang emphasised the fusion of tradition and sports. The closing ceremony, hosted by P Chongtin, Executive Member (KSC), saw the Deputy Commissioner of Noklak as the special guest. In his address, he expressed gratitude to the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, acknowledging the unique opportunity the event presented for the district’s youth. Despite the challenges posed by distance and road conditions, he commended the department for reaching out to this remote area.

Highlighting the overwhelming response to the event, the Deputy Commissioner stated, “Our district was a champion at the previous Olympics, and we have lots of youngsters who are interested in various sports. If more events like these are organized, our people will benefit.” He urged participants to focus on constant practice and determination, emphasizing the myriad opportunities in the sports field, not only at the local but also at the state level.

Addressing the youth directly, he cautioned against involvement in anti-social elements and encouraged them to harness their natural advantage of building stamina through daily foot travel. The Deputy Commissioner’s message resonated with the audience, especially the young participants, as he inspired them to aspire for more significant achievements.

M Khumeng, Vice President of Khiamniungan Sports Association, delivered vote of thanks. A Pinglang, Pastor of Longdon Baptist Church, Noklak town, offered a thanksgiving prayer.
