SASU, SAYO serve public notice to Manipuris within south Angami region

Dimapur Dec 12 (MExN): The Southern Angami Students Union (SASU) and the Southern Angami Youth Organization (SAYO) have served a public notice to the people of Manipur state residing within the southern Angami jurisdiction to ‘be aware of any situation’ if the demands of the two organization to the Manipur government to bring to book the murders of Vilhoukho Phira are not met within 7 days with effect from December 12.

Vehemently condemning the December 4 murder of late Vilhoukho Phira, the two organizations through Kikovi, SAYO president and Seyievilie Peter, SASU president, stated that it was not the first time such crimes have been perpetrated on the southern Angamis from the Manipuri borders. “Do we deserve some few more? Maybe we have been too considering over the years where our hospitality and generosity had been misinterpreted. This time we are left with no other option than to reciprocate in the same degree as we suffered” they stated.

The organizations gave the Manipur Government a week’s time to ‘initiate every effort to bring out an amicable solution to the satisfaction of the victims as the crimes were committed under the political jurisdiction of Manipur State’.

The Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) while condemning the murder also stated that it was not aware of any effective steps taken although the absence of late Phira along with his vehicle was reported to the administration and the police authorities. Through its president Phelukhewe Kirha.
