St John College conducts FDP

Dimapur, July 18 (MExN): The Research and Faculty Development Committee of St John College (SJC), Dimapur organized five-day intensive training as part of faculty development programme from July 12 to 16. 

A press release from the college stated that the training focused on topics including “meaningful teaching- learning, both online and regular”, “research orientation, publishing works, helping students in conducting meaningful project works” and “balancing professional as well as personal growth”. 

The inaugural session was led by SJC Administrative head, Peter Banks and orientation by SJC Principal Professor ST Janetius. The topics and the respective resource persons were as follows: “Use of Online Library Resources for Teaching and Research” by Vineetha Davies, St. Aloysius College, Kerala; “Blended Learning: UGC’s Proposal and Issues” by Dr Mini TC of WMO College, Kerala; Skill- based Teaching /Learning: Making education meaningful” by Dr Anil Ch Borah, who is the regional director of IGNOU, Jorhat. 

On day-four, the training focused on “Research Methodology.” It was divided into two sessions with Arts session headed by Professor Prafulla Kumar Nath, Gauhati University and Science session headed by Professor Chitta Ranjan Deb, Nagaland University. Academic Research Paper Publication was held on day-five for the Arts and Science faculties. This was headed by Dr Renu Yadav from Central University of Haryana for Arts and Prof Chitta Ranjan Deb from Nagaland University for Science.

In the last session, Professor ST Janetius gave a talk on “Work-life Balance: Managing Productive Academic and Personal growth” followed by an interactive session. The programme concluded with an elaborate session on participant experiences and closing remarks from the Administrative head.
