Training of Master Trainers on Early Childhood Care and Education commenced at Mount Tabor Retreat Centre, Kohima.

Kohima, May 9 (MExN): A three-day Training of Master Trainers on ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) commenced at Mount Tabor Retreat Centre, Kohima, organised by the Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland.

The inaugural session was chaired by T Neingusalie, Deputy Director. The Director, Tosheli Zhimomi gave a brief address welcoming everyone to the event followed by a short speech by Martha R Ritse (IAS), Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Department of Social Welfare.

The Secretary in her speech elucidated on the Ministry of Women and Child Development’s ECCE Curriculum of 2024 for children aged 3-6, which promotes holistic development, play-based learning, and the integration of various learning domains. She stated that the curriculum encourages the involvement of parents, caregivers, and communities in children’s education. In conclusion, she pointed out that the initiative aims to provide a strong foundation for every child’s future and called for collective efforts in implementing the curriculum effectively.

This was followed by the training sessions which will continue till May 10.
