In attempting to write up this article I fear I am treading a dangerous path. What prompts me to venture on it all the same is but a modest desire to share with my Naga brethren, why dangerous path is because my articles may pin-point the fishy games and the loopholes of some particular Village Education Committee Chairman, WEC and DEO, DIS. Nevertheless, I find no enough reason to scare off my write up because here is what every body experience and knows but scared to be highlighted for fear of counter attacks. If at all to any readers of my experience as recorded here in this articles which throws lights on an aspect of our society hitherto not fully understood by all section of people prove to be of some interest, I shaIl consider my efforts amply rewarded.
Education is essentially a public funded activity- This is more so at the primary levels of education. Any Political Party that runs the Government blow their own trumpet of achievement. At this juncture; through the-implementation, of the programme on Sarva Shiksha Abiyan and communization, the best can be judged which Government is really for the people and not for the party workers to boost up the voter banks. Civil work under SSA, thousand of lakhs is being pumped to the Village to carry out and improve physical infrastructure of education which is fully a central scheme. Here comes what my experiences need to say! Today Village Education Committee Chairman, ward education committee, District education officers are having their political masters which in turn is to allot them contract work for manipulation under SSA whereby VEC/WEC arc not entitled to under the directive of State Mission Authority, SSA. What exactly confused me here is that, allocation of civil work against the participant project to Villages under SSA is really done under the influence of Political party? The state mission Authority should not confused the people with this crisis. As per the reliable sources, some Minister and MLA’s are recommending their party workers to carry out the SSA fund on contract basis. If at all, the State Mission Authority and District Mission Authority should not make fool with the sincere and faithful VEC/WEC which arc strictly adhere to thcir directive.
To justify this point, EBRC, DEO, DIS, DC may also substantiate better reason. While paying due respect and honour to the sincere and selfless teachers serving particularly in the Villages, the VEC/WEC should also root out the salaried teachers, proxy teachers are not an exceptional cases, which is harming the effective functioning of schools. These proxy teachers replace the trained and senior teachers, where VEC/WEC arc solely responsible for the inefficiency. Simultaneously, in most of the VEC and WEC powers and function are being misused. Where the higher authority should not be a silent spectator but enforced the punitive action against the erring VEC/WEC Chairmen.
Despite of all these complication that is prevailing in education system. I am also quite optimistic for things will change for better as Naga Student Federation has undertaken the project on SSA at the right time. Which I promptly believed that NSF is not affiliated to any boss or political parties which is tUI11 they can bring justice to the downtrodden people of society. I as a young concerned up coming generation is also confused if this complication and manipulation continue to exist in educational system of our society, when time and again, the government in power is proclaiming for its transparency and accountability in Public administration. To wind up my write up, as education contribute towards enhancing individual productivity national income and bettering social well being in any economy. I do feel this arc the zenith P0Lt1t of time where both young and old should come forward and rooted out the con1.1pted and unscrupulous authority in our lands so that the upcoming generation docs not inherit their character.
