Nagaland honours 210 meritorious sportspersons with State Sports Award

210 meritorious sportspersons of the state including four coaches have been conferred with the prestigious State Sports Award here today by the state’s Department of Youth Resources & Sports.


A total of Rs. 50 lakhs has been utilised for this cash awards for 311 medal winners from the year 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 including some backlog from 2012 from 14 disciplines at the national and international level.


The cash awards was given during the observance of 'National Sports Day' cum- Fit India Movement,” here organised by department of youth resources & sports in collaboration with Nagaland Olympic Association.

The state coaches awardees were Ruopfii Meyase (Football), Kevilebei Paphino (Football), Neisevotuo Terhase (Archery) and B. Awala Walling (Athletics).
