A strong voice in the community

Bendangmeren Imsong social worker from Yaongyimsen Village under Mokokchung District is a very well known person to all the Citizens of Mokokchung particularly as well as to the Naga in general for his selfless services rendered towards the upliftment of the societies in all round aspects. He was Ex-Information and Publicity Secretary in Ao Students Conference in the year 1994 – 1996. Even after completion of his tenure he was actively involved in almost all the general conference held at different places as Editor and Press Media which was very beneficial to the Ao Students Conference in general.

Bendangmeren Imsong is reputably known as a strong voice in the community in addressing social issues from all aspects. Out of the number of activities taken up with positive outcomes that he has been contributing to the society, it is worth mentioning the fact that,

During the recent flood disaster in Tuli (26.05.2005), after experiencing major drawback and inconvenience faced by the people due to poor telecommunication services, he took the challenge to approach the General Manager of BSNL urging them to look into much neglected areas and also issued a press release regarding the poor mobile services. The response was enormous from the public in general and the administration has agreed to setup a tower in that particular range and the matter is under process.

During his participation in the National Service Voluntary (NYK), under his leadership, ten youngsters were sent to Nanital to attend Shri. Aurobindo National Integration Camp proved as a productive endeavor for the society, after which he has been an active ego-booster amongst the youngsters working towards positive impact by attending to their interest.

In spite of his mere income, he has donated sports items to various youth organizations and clubs as well as stationeries accompanied with his participation and encouragement. His record testifies his leadership skills of being office bearers in various Youth Committees, he is serving the community at length through his freelance dedication as a career counselor where aspirant students yearning to go out of the state are given assistance and contacts.

Under Rural Changtongya Civil hospital, an additional doctor was appointed seeing to the need of the facility that was neglected for a long time and voluntarily assisting patients who seek medical help within the state as well as outside.

All Adhoc Govt. graduate teachers, who have completed 5 years and above in service has been granted Regularization under his persistent pursuance to the Govt. through Press Releases and Appeal even up to Governor level.

For the last ten years Bendangmeren Imsong has been rendering his selfless service with dedication and sincerity to the community as well as the state in general. His activities are remarkably heartfelt that in spite of his low financial budget, he has been contributing his whole time and resources towards the well being of the community and the youth in particular. His social activity carries a trademark of his multitasking abilities in interacting with people from different walks of life and backgrounds.

His down to earth qualities and presence of reasoning and analyzation which exposes his talents and sense of responsibilities for the whole general community through media has been a real eye opener, in bringing up political, social and economical issues under the public hearing. Infact, we could not have asked for a better social worker.

Bendangmeren Imsong has maneuvered a specific strategy with a bigger vision to be achieved within the coming 5 years on stronger scale. He has a passion to work especially with the unprivileged and educated unemployed youth in terms of :-

1.    Literacy

2.    Career Guidance

3.    Self Employment-by encouraging private sectors, small–scale industries

4.    Medical Aid-Facilities and infrastructure

5.    Opening of Government Medical colleges and engineering colleges focusing more on unprivileged students
