With the start of the new admission season for newly passed out students of Class 12, Nagaland Educational Expo 2024 is set to be held at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur on May 18. 

Organised by Get your University (an educational consultancy firm), based in Dimapur near City Tower junction, the expo will begin from 10:00 am onwards till 3:00 pm with free entry for all interested students and parents. 

Announcing this through a press conference held at the venue on Friday, the organisers mentioned that about 10 educational institutions (from across India and abroad) are expected to a part of the expo. Chief among them will be Desh Bhagat University (formerly Saint Teresa University) from Punjab. According to its Vice President, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, the university offers about 200 programs including diplomas, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees. This includes courses in healthcare sciences such as Ayurveda, Dental Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy and Para Medical Courses along with tech related courses in cyber-security, artificial intelligence, data science, and business analytics. 

VP also highlighted a number of financial support options that the university will be offering like “Shakti Scholarship” to support girl students and various scholarships to recognize academic excellence across disciplines. Along with “Students Earn While You Learn” program, offering students practical experience and financial support during their studies.

Dr Sadawarti highlighted that DBU is committed towards providing academic excellence, research, and societal impact. Currently there are about 10,000 students enrolled in various UGC-approved, NAAC-accredited programs, he reported. 

Siddarth Subba, counselor at Get your University meanwhile added that the expo is an opportunity for students and their parents/ guardians to explore the different courses offered beyond the state. As such, he encouraged them to attend the event, interact with the counselors and resource persons from the representing colleges.
