CANSSEA ask Government to come out with suitable notification

DIMAPUR, DEC 13 (MExN): Reiterating to the authority’s virtual silence on the merger of 50% DA with Basic Pay w.e.f. 01/04/04, K.Solo, President Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) today has asked the Government to come out with suitable notification on the subject before the matter moves beyond repair and amend. Solo, in a release has stated that CANSSEA through several memorandums has urged the Government of Nagaland to bring parity in the emolument structure of the State Government employees with those of the Central Government employees.

Pointing out the 5th CPC which states, “DA should be converted to Dearness Pay each time the CPI Index increases by 50% over the base index of 1510 used by the last commission. Such DA should be termed as dearness pay and be counted for all purposes including retirement benefit” Solo stated that the request of CANSSEA was pursuant to or in consonance with the recommendation.

He stated that the organization is totally crest-fallen to see the authority’s apparent apathy and indifference to act on the issue in question having wider application. Stating that the peaceful and persuasive efforts of CANSSEA were miserably looked down by the Government, he stated “the Confederation may be forced to take refuge to such actions that may be repugnant to and pernicious for all round welfare of the people”.
