Corruption in society has reached its zenith

Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): The Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) expresses utter disgust that corruption in the Naga society has reached “its zenith, now that people are being cheated in the name of Christianity and church which is a bizarre happening in Naga society.” The organization was referring  to the recent arrest of a fake ‘reverend’ who  filched lakhs from churches.

The WSKH condemned the  act committed by Solomon Poumai, the fake reverend. He was arrested by Dimapur police for cheating and collecting money from churches in Nagaland, in the name of fake ministries.

“Nagas as Christians have never experienced such act of cheating which have crossed all limits. What could be most heinous crime than a Christian using the name of church or religion for the purpose of cheating people?,” queried WSKH president Apeto Assumi.

‘Such acts of disgracing the sanctity of Christianity and church should not be allowed to happen again in Naga society for it will only encourage many others who are out to commit any kind of crime for their personal benefit.’

The Sumi GBs also said that the crime committed by Solomon Poumai should be condemned by all sections of the Naga society including the churches for he has disgraced the image of the church and Christianity. “Police are also requested to enforce strict action against him and not even grant bail so that every member of Naga society or every Christian remembers that committing crime in the name of religion is most heinous,” the WSKH stated.
