Free oral cancer screening carried out for all categories of staffs under District Hospital Dimapur at Dental OPD.
Dimapur, May 9 (MExN): In commemoration of oral cancer screening month under National Oral Health Programme, free oral cancer screening is being carried out from May 7 to 10 for all categories of staffs under District Hospital Dimapur at Dental OPD.
As a health care provider, health workers have a professional responsibility to maintain their own health and wellness in order to provide safe and effective care to their patients. Health workers are the role models for their patients and communities. By prioritizing their own health and wellness through regular medical checkups, they are setting an example and reinforcing the importance of preventive healthcare practices. Screening of oral cancer can save lives by facilitating early detection and prompt treatment especially for individuals with risk factors or a history of tobacco or alcohol use.
The screening is led by Dr N Moa Jamir, Senior Dental Surgeon, DNO (NOHP) Dimapur, Dr Sentirenla, Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgeon, and Dr Japheth, Junior Dental Surgeon, District Hospital Dimapur. The free oral cancer screening for the staffs is from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM and regular Dental OPD for the general public will resume after 10:00 AM.
