Furry 'Guardian of Dzükou Valley' passes away

Admired and adored by locals, caretakers and tourists as the 'Guardian of Dzükou Valley,' the passing of Friday, a Common Breed male dog has left netizens teary-eyed. Friday passed away on August 24, Thursday evening after being run over by a car below St Joseph College, Jakhama. 

Several netizens who had known and met Friday shared emotional posts to pay their love and respect and grieve the passing of their loving and adorable furry friend. 

One of the Dzükou Valley management in-charge said that it has been a year since Friday has dwelt in Dzükou Valley. Over the months, he had grown up to be huge with thick fur acclimatizing to the weather in the valley. 

Friday, as he is named by Dzükou Valley dwellers bears significance because he was taken to the valley on a Friday.
"He's being a good friend with all the visitors, he has caught so many hearts," a tourist posted on the photo sharing app Instagram. 

A caretaker who had first taken Friday to Dzükou posted in his WhatsApp status, "I have taken you to Dzükou for the first time, when you were a puppy. I saw you grow up and yesterday, I saw you for the last time injured, lay down helplessly."

Friday, who spends his time trekking the valley with caretakers, tourist guides, tourists, visitors often takes detours from the valley back to Viswema village. 

"He would usually come back to Viswema village with trekkers and go back to Dzükou Valley," the management informed. Friday, for his mild manners, polite and cool attitude was often pampered and greeted with love even by people who meet him for the first time and is used to new people.

Yesterday was his last trip from Dzükou. 

Polite, beautiful and mild-mannered, Friday will be known and remembered by thousands who encountered him. Leaving fond memories behind, he leaves behind 'Snow', his female companion in Dzükou Valley. She was taken to Dzükou Valley after Friday during the bout of snowfall earlier this year, and was aptly given the name Snow.
