Mon, November 26 (MExN): To accelerate the coverage of COVID vaccination and to identify the beneficiaries who have not yet taken the 1st dose and those overdue for 2nd dose, the District Health Society (DHS), Mon has started 'Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign in the district.
The campaign is line with the Government’s effort to defeat the pandemic by visiting house to house in all the blocks of the District for vaccination, informed a press release from Media Officer, NHM Mon Leeyan Chemshy.
As a part of the campaign, Medical Officers, Nurses, Vaccinators, management staffs and Prodigal Home team are taking COVID-19 jabs to the doorsteps of people with severe physical disabilities who were incapable of visiting vaccination centres, it said.
The campaign will be covered as per headcount population and unvaccinated list of eligible beneficiaries furnished by the ASHAs and complete the campaign November 30, it said.
The DHS Mon also requested the community to kindly co-operate with the team as the festive season is just round the corner where mass-gatherings and celebration would be inevitable.
“In order to prevent infection and spread of COVID, we should avail the vaccine as it is the only way to protect us from severe illness, hospitalization and even death,” it added.
