JYO demands bypass road repair

Dimapur, April 5 (MExN): A local organization in Kohima, Jotsoma Youth Organization, has asked the BRTF to commence works on the Jotsoma bypass road as assured in March this year. “Despite our several request made to the authorities for proper maintenance of the road, no action for improvement have been done. The villagers with its meager fund have been trying its best in maintaining the said road for the last few years for vehicular mobility to bring our essentials,” the JYO stated in a note received here. The JYO expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the public every year ‘for the poor maintenance of the Jotsoma Bye-Pass road.’ “The BRTF had given verbal assurance to the villagers that the maintenance work will be started from March 2011; however till date no work has been done. The Jotsoma Youth Organization once again appeals to the authority to immediately take up the matter at the earliest.” Failing to fulfill the assurance, the JYO stated, “The BRTF/government will be held responsible for any consequences.”
