Ngada cum Mini-Hornbill Festival celebrated in Kohima

Rengma Public Organization Kohima organized its annual general session cum Ngada celebration 2021 (Mini-Hornbill Festival) at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima on November 27.

Kohima, November 27 (MExN): The Rengma Public Organization Kohima (RPOK) organized its annual general session cum Ngada celebration 2021 (Mini-Hornbill Festival) at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima on November 27.

A press release received here stated that RPOK President, Khinyi Woch in his address encouraged the gathering to foster good relationship with neighbours and friends being residents of the state capital.  Reflecting on the achievements of the organization over the past few years with reminiscence, he called upon the gathering to strive towards continually promoting and protecting the identity and welfare of the community in line with the organization's motto, “Identity and welfare”. 

He encouraged the youths to look beyond white-collar government job towards entrepreneurship and self-employment. He further encouraged the youths to take explore towards the field of mass media and law which are integral for promoting the interests of them community. 

During the function, a certification of recognition was also presented to writer, Joseph S Thong in recognition of his prolific and immense contributions in the field of Naga and Rengma Vernacular Literature. 

Ngada greeting was delivered by Kenilo Apon, IAS Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland while K Gwanilo Himb shared on the meaning, significance and Ngada practices to the gathering. Tesophenyu Cultural Troupe Kohima made cultural presentation, Kenny Semp presented the Secretary report and Treasures report was delivered by Senchuya Kath. 

During the gathering, a new team of officers bearers for the tenure (2021-24) under the Presidentship of K Gwanilo Himb was dedicated by Ahyulo Kemp, Associate Pastor, RBCK. 

The programme chaired by RPOK Vice-president, Yhunchilo Khing while invocation was pronounced by Lechito Tep, Associate Pastor, Rengma Baptist Church Kohima, welcome address by RPOK, Vice-President, Kegwanyo Tep. Word of gratitude was delivered by Esron Himb while Benediction was delivered by Senenle Apon, Associate Pastor, RBCK followed by the grand Ngada feast.
