NU Vice Chancellor presents research papers at ACRS 2021

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 28 (MExN): The Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University Nagaland, Prof (Dr) Arun Kumar Verma along with Dr Aosen Pongen, Assistant Professor attended and presented two research papers in Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS 2021) at Can Tho University, Vietnam, organised by Asian Association of Remote Sensing, Japan, and attended by more than 400 participants from 28 countries.

The NU Vice Chancellor discussed on the severity and vulnerability of Covid-19 spectrum and geo-spatial big data analysis of Covid-19 spectrum envelope of the first and second waves of the outbreak in the southeast asian region.

Research team consisting of Dr Resenmenla Longchor, Dr Aosenla Pongen and Wapansengla Imchen, Assistant Professor of IUN carried out predictive analysis of Covid-19 data of 52 countries from February 19, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

Dr Verma said that the global spread of Covid-19 caused marked variations in population mortality between different countries situated at different latitudes, which suggest establishing the correlation between latitude and the severity of the covid-19 outbreak.

He explained the outcome of the outbreak in the Southeast Asian region covering the latitude between 38°N to 6°S, which observed first and second wave of covid-19 spectrum with different spectrum envelope, and caused severe population mortality depending upon the spectrum pattern of the outbreak.

This spreading of the spectrum caused marked variations in population mortality between different countries depending upon Covid-19 spectrum envelope characteristics with its spectrum peak height and width, existing healthcare infrastructure and its supply chain management of healthcare delivery systems of the country.
