Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): The Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), headquarters Nyengchingkong, Longleng organized a ‘prayer walk’ for Clean Election in collaboration with Longleng town churches as well as Phom churches on February 19.

In this connection, the Longleng District Clean Election Movement Core Committee under PBCA appealed to all citizens above the age of 18 years above citizens to stick on ‘One Person, One Vote.’

“Do not sell your votes; say no to intoxicated substances which distort moral and spiritual lives of the believers.  Nagaland is predominantly Christian state; therefore, election should be conducted ethically and peacefully in Christian spirit and also as per the election model code of conduct,” PBCA Executive Secretary N Tialemba Phom stated in a press release received here on Monday.

The PBCA also advised political party leaders and members “to differentiate between religious spiritual forms of phrases and use them accordingly.”

“We urge our citizens to understand that political power is not to decide final fate, but it is temporal, it is only for 5 years. Election will come and go... Therefore, take care of your life and cast your vote to whom you want to vote as clean election guideline,” it stated while urging citizens to say no to violence and conflict.
