Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): Related to the question of land ownership at Pungro which has been disputed time and again, the GBS Union Pungro Sub-Division, Public Forum of Pungro Sub-Division (PFRS) and GBs Association Kiphire District on behalf of the public of Pungro Sub-Division invites the USLB, any village or individual claiming ownership of land within Pungro Sub-Division to be present in person on August 24, 2010 without fail to make their claim.
Government representative (s) are also requested to be deputed to bear witness to the claims and objection if any to settle the dispute once and all.
This was informed in a public notice jointly appended by GBS Union Pungro Sub-Division president, Mumumong Yim and general secretary Shahoto Yim, PFRS president, Kiusumew Yim and vice president Pensokiu Yim and GBs Association Kiphire District Shophu Yim. Meanwhile, failure on the part of the claimant(s) to be present as stipulated would invalidate any such claim in future; be if also known that each claimant is to be present on the portion of land claimed as per Naga customary practices, the notice added.
The notice also added that on December 9, 1991 the signatories from both the effected village(s) were present and the dispute was settled amicably.
