Rejoinder On LVS Flays Alleged Threat On DPO Kiphiri

Apropos the news that was published in the local papers on September 22nd, 2010 on the alleged threat to DPO, Kiphiri, it has become necessary to bring out this clarification. On learning of the transfer of the outgoing PD of Kiphiri, I along with K. V. John and my colleagues went to meet the PD with good intentions as he was personally known to me since the past two/three years. This visit is just to say a farewell note.

Suddenly, Setsathong DPO came and for best known to him abused me to leave the DRDA office. As a result, I explained that as a Naga we are all free people to interact with one another where one need not abuse the other unreasonably whether privileged or underprivileged. On his departure from the scene, he falsely reported to the police. So 5 or 6 police personnel came to arrest and victimized me which luckily I averted. After I left, it was noted that other Naga political groups are freely meeting the PD. This is indicative of the nexus of Setsathong DPO with some political group designs of individual benefit.

Under these circumstances, I have to express that today’s privilege class of the Naga society must remember that they are holding whit collar jobs which is because of the sacrifices made by our people in the cause of Naga nationalism. The benefits they enjoy and the luxury life they lead at the cost of Naga martyrs and patriotic blood must not be channelised against any one of the national workers today whether it be me or any other person. The disunity and the consequences thereof which the Nagas suffered for the past three decades because of the vested designs of individuals is a lesson for us and which we must contain today.
