PHEK, NOVEMBER 28 (MExN): A monolith stone pulling ceremony of the Secheku Baptist Church Council (SBCC) between Khomi and Pholami village was held on November 26.

Following an act of sanctification performed by Vezokho Vezhü, Pastor, Pholami Baptist Church, a stone monolith measuring 12 feet in length, 4 feet wide and 1.4 feet thick, tied with thick and long vines was pulled by hundreds of men in two rows for a stretch of about 2 Kms to Pholami Village.

The men displayed their strength pulling the massive stone intoning traditional cries while some of the womenfolk awaited them along the roadside. They were accompanied by the members of the Organising Committee, the Souvenir Committee and the Youth Directors of SBCC and the youth board as well.

This event was held to commemorate the golden meet of the SBCC Youth Brigade on November 26. The monolith will be unveiled on January 14, 2022 to mark 50 years of the SBCC Youth Brigade. Monoliths in the Naga tradition are engraved to mark a significant event or achievement.
