Chümoukedima, May 2 (MExN): The Department of Civil Engineering, St Joseph University, Chümoukedima organised the 3rd National Level Technical Symposium ‘ESTRIBOS 2024’ focusing on improving the ability and creativity of the students on April 30.

The special guest, Dipak Basumatari, Principal Scientist at Centre for Advanced Civil Engineering Research highlighted geotechnical investigation and indigenous technologies in civil engineering. The chief guest, Dr Leon Raj J, Senior Scientist, Centre for Advanced Civil Engineering Research, gave a presentation on the design and execution of pile walls at Munnar. He addressed the pressing issues surrounding the design and execution of the secant pile wall project in Munnar. 

In the presidential address, Dr D Gnanadurai, Vice Chancellor spoke on importance of ensuring that the teaching-learning process remains dynamic and inclusive and the importance of research in engineering. He also emphasised that obtaining an engineering degree without practical exposure would undermine its value and relevance in the professional realm.
