KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 3 (MExN): The IQAC Kohima Science College (A), Jotsoma organized a state level workshop on students’ assessment and evaluation on September 2 in the college conference hall.

The resource persons were Dr. Bendangyapangla, Associate Professor, SCTE; Anish Himb, Assistant Professor, SCTE; and Tepusa Kiso, Assistant Professor, SCTE

Dr Bendangyapangla dealt on ‘Levels of Objectives for Educational Evaluation’. With reference to the revised Bloom’s taxonomy (2001), she pointed out that a question paper should consist more of HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) rather than LOTS (Lower Order Thinking Skills).

Anisha Himb spoke on ‘Forms of Questions’. The various forms of questions were ‘long answer type test items’, ‘short answer type test items’ and ‘objective type items’. Detailed deliberations on setting each type of questions were made.

Tepusa Kiso expounded on ‘Marking Scheme’. It was pointed out that having a marking scheme has advantages such as uniformity of standard in assessing, increase objectivity of scoring, ensures reliability of scoring and help teachers to give feedback. The workshop was attended by 85 teachers from 8 colleges. Dr Lilongchem Thyug, coordinator, IQAC KSCJ chaired the workshop and Dr Samadangla Ao, Member, IQAC KSCJ pronounced the vote of thanks.
