TVBCLN, TERI conduct exposure trips for farmer

Zunheboto, September 26 (MExN): A four-day farmers’ exposure trips to the Kiphire district orgnised by the Zunheboto-based Tizu Valley Biodiversity Conservation and Livelihood Network (TVBCLN) in collaboration with, the Energy Resources Institute of India (TERI) kicked off on September 24.   The trips, supported by the Japan Fund for Global Environment, Environmental and Restoration Agency (JFGE) will conclude on September 28.

Altogether fifteen farmers from Sukhai, Ghukhuyi and Kivikhu are visiting the Fakim Wildlife Sanctuary and Shiloi Lake as a part of the trip, inforemd a press release from Ivan Jimomi, Team Leader, TVBCLN. 

The main objective of the trips is to let the farmers get interaction with progressive farmers and sharing the knowledge of best practices of traditional and sustainable jhum cultivation in the areas, he said. 

It is also being organised to access knowledge on how eco-tourism and promoting the same in the TVBCLN areas, he added.
