Use of plastic bottles for all meetings and programmes banned in SAS:NU

Medziphema, April 22 (MExN): The Nagaland University, School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS:NU), Medziphema celebrated World Earth Day in a programme led by Prof Akali Sema, Pro Vice-Chancellor, SAS:NU and attended by Dean, Prof L Daiho, SAS:NU, faculty, non-teaching staff and students. The theme for this year is ‘Planet vs. Plastic.’

Prof Akali Sema emphasised on the importance of making efforts in our everyday activities to minimize or to do away with usage of plastics as this is the worst pollutant in our planet. She also said that in this endeavor, the School of Agricultural Sciences, Medziphema Campus, has banned the use of plastic bottles for all meetings and programs. “In such small ways we can all contribute towards creating a better environment,” Sema stated. 

Prof L Daiho, Dean, SAS:NU, faculty, non-teaching staff and students also shared their thoughts and ideas through short speeches. The message that all emphasized on was to say no to plastic and to ensure that all should Reuse, Reduce, Recycle and to add one more ‘R’ which is Responsibility.
