After seeing the inception of NPL, I had a soul searching within myself about what i am actually contributing to the people of Nagaland. Finding out about what the 442 Management is trying to achieve through the NPL is massive and whether they succeed or don’t , it inspires youth like us to generally just stop barking now and do something. I have read blogs hammering the point about why the youth should stand up and do something about the system whatever field it may be and reading the story of people behind 442 management. It sends a positive outlook to all youth in the state to do something for the people.
Looking at certain comment in your column, I studied it from a 360 degree perspective and maybe the person who wrote to you is either a hardcore new market fc fan or a football lover but his perspective on the so called controversy is very old school. First point is why didn’t Dolphin Club start the State league way back then, or like how he pointed out what were the so called football enthusiast doing for the last 40 or 50 years. Atleast give credit that someone stepped up and these someone are young people like me taking a step because the others could not. They were fed up of how things were running so they asked for it and it was not handed to them.
Looking from my perspective, I believe the people behind 442 are also hardcore football enthusiast otherwise they wouldn’t be embarking on this journey breaking their own bank account without any financial assistance. That is something remarkable and I believe even if they don’t have football credentials to show, I take this step as the biggest credential a football enthusiast would do.
Last perspective is that I believe you require not only football credentials but management credentials too to run the league. Look at all the proper structured leagues around you and everything or most of it is privately managed. I- League has private managers for management, EPL has league managers, Serie A, La Liga etc. The responsible associations are just the authority and appointed technical teams to take care of the technical matters. I am a football enthusiast and I don’t think ill have to question them but I want to question what all the others were doing for the last 40 years. We belong to the "Do Generation".
