Sao Chang College, Tuensang celebrated Earth Day on April 22 under the theme ‘Planet vs. Plastics.’
Tuensang, April 22 (MExN): Sao Chang College (SCC), Tuensang organised a workshop on waste management and creative recycling in celebration of Earth Day on April 22 under the theme ‘Planet vs. Plastics.’
The programme was organised by Ministerial Staff, SCC in collaboration with NSS SCC and was sponsored by Jal Shakti Committee. Dr Temjensangla Pongener, Associate Professor, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, graced the occasion as a resource person.
Speaking on the topic, Dr Temjensangla raised awareness on importance of proper waste management and highlighted creative recycling techniques to reduce waste and minimize environmental impact. She also gave hands-on training on how to segregate waste and reuse of waste.
Taliba Sangtam, Head Accountant, SCC chaired the programme while Dr Lanurenla, Principal, SCC welcomed the gathering.
The workshop was followed by a mass social work in the college campus. Along with the resource person, students from NSS and Eco Club FAC joined the faculty, staff and students of SCC in the social work. All together around 550 participants attended the programme.
