Mokokchung, June 23 (MExN): A total of 20 students took the nursing oath during the first ‘lamp lighting ceremony’ at the ANM School of Nursing, Impur Christian Hospital (ICH) on June 21.

According to a press release on Wednesday, in the profession of nursing, this ceremony is the most significant event, as it allows a person to enter the nursing profession.

Principal of the ANM School, Imtinaro  while administering the oath said that ICH was honored and thrilled to have 20 students taking the nursing oath this year.

Rev Sentisashi, President, ABAM, the guest of honor of the ceremony, offered the dedicatory prayer for the 20 ANM students. He also exhorted them saying that character is the primary qualification of a nurse because their character is potentially placed with the power to change the mindset of the patients.

‘Be a person with good character,’ he advised the nursing students. He further said service from the perspective of God is that ‘the more you serve, the more popular you become.’ Be the one who serves others at any cost for service to man is service to God, he added.

In the release, Rev Dr Mar Pongener stated that as a project, Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) looks forward to seeing significant achievements by the ICH and students as they enter the nursing profession.
