KOHIMA, APRIL 28 (MExN): The interactive session on stress & stress management with the NSS unit of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma took place on April 27 at Jotsoma Village Council Hall.

Kezhazolie Cornelius Mere, chairman, Carl Rogers Institute of Mental Health & Research Centre, Kohima spoke on how, as a human, all go through different types of stressors, and how important it is for humans to need the positive stressors and yet more importantly to identify what is negatively stressing you out and take proper steps for it.

He also stressed on how the young Nagas, both students and youths are becoming victims of negative stressors and are not able to find the right coping mechanism to deal their stressors and how they start indulging in harmful habits to cope with their stressors like cigarettes, alcohols, drugs, tobacco, gaming and social media addictions. He also stressed on how this habit may provide momentary relief and a sense of high, yet they are extremely harmful and addictive.

Further, more stress management activities were conducted including how to deal with academic stressors and study skills. Moarenla Longkumer , Program Officer , NSS , KSCJ, NSS Special Camp led the session.
