Dimapur, March 4 (MExN): An off-site disaster drill in conjunction with the 51st National Safety Day on the theme “nurture young minds develop safety culture” was organized by Labour Department & Indian Oil Corporation in collaboration with Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority at IOCL Oil Depot at Kevijau Colony, Dimapur on March 4.

According to a DIPR report, IOCL officials informed that every year on March 4, India commemorates National Safety Day to raise awareness and commitment to working safely. This year IOCL Dimapur depot collaborated with Labor Department and Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, SDRF, NDRF, and civil societies and raised awareness of the neighboring communities towards various emergency scenarios which could occur from the depot and help them prepare to tackle any emergency through community talk on March 3.

The drill started at 9:00 am, wherein, in the event of leakage and fire the situation was dealt with within the Oil Depot, and simultaneously the people of the nearby community were evacuated as part of the emergency drill.
