Elumyo Sub-Centre under Wokha district inaugurated

Wokha, September 23 (MExN): Elumyo Sub-Centre under Wokha district was inaugurated by Dr C W Tungoe, Chief Medical Officer, Wokha in the presence of medical officers, medical staffs and Elumyo villagers on September 23.

A press release from the office of the CMO Wokha stated that addressing the participants, Dr Tungoe said the Sub-Centre was inaugurated as per the directive received from the Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland. The village community should be equally responsible for the smooth functioning of the health unit and co-operate with the health workers during any health care activities, he added.

During the programme, Dr Zuben Kikon, Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Dr Mhonchan Kithan, Zonal Leprosy Officer enlightened the villagers on the benefits of Covid-19 vaccination and Covid-19 random testing. They also sought the co-operation of the villagers during Covid-19 activities and urged them to remove stigma attached to the disease.

Chairperson of the programme, C Zumomo Tsanglao, Elumyo Village Council Chairman stated that it was a long cherished dream of Elumyo village to have a fully functional government health centre and expressed his gratitude to the medical department on behalf of the village community for their initiative in setting up the health centre. The invocation was pronounced by Elumyo Baptist Church Pastor, N Lichumo Tsanglao while Biali Kikon, Elumyo Baptist Church women leader said the benediction and Tsenthungo Ovung, GB delivered the vote of thanks.
