NASA-A emerges 63rd NASA meet 2022 overall champion

Twenty three years Kezhaseluo-o Pienyii today emerged the wrestling champion title of 63rd Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) Meet 2022, which concluded here today at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground)

Son of late Thepfusanyii Pienyii of Kohima village and representing NASA-A, Pienyii defeated strong opponent Dzieselatuo Keretsii in finals. Weighing 134 kg and standing 6’3, he defeated Medosatuo Paiinuo of Kijiimetouma village (NASA-B) in the pre-quarters. He booked semi finals berth after defeating Seyieteiso Rutsa of Kohima village in the quarter finals. He found final berth after defeating Keviser Dziivichii of Kohima village in the 2nd semi finals.
Pienyii pocketed a cash prize of Rs. 80,000.

Runner-up Dzieselatuo Keretsii of Kohima village entered finals after defeating Kezhavizo Thevo of Chedema village (NASA-B) in the 1st semi final.

34 years Keretsii, son of late Rev. Khriezetuo Keretsii defeated Keneisetuo Kire of Kohima village in pre-quarter.
Standing 5’11 and weighing 134 kg, he defeated Vizakietuo Suohu of Kohima village in quarter finals.

He pocketed a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

3rd place winner Keviser Dziivichii (26 years) defeated Menuosetuo Yiese of Kohima village in the quarter finals.

Dziivichii, son of Khriengulie Dziivichii of Kohima village was lost to Kezhaseluo-o Pienyu in the second semi finals.

Standing 5’11 and weighing 120 kg, he overpowered Kezhavizo Thevo in third place bout and pocketed Rs. 30,000.

4th place winner Kezhavizo Thevo (24 years), son of Neile-o Thevo defeated Neizosetuo Kire of Kohima village in the quarter finals.

Standing 5’10 and weighing 99 kg, he was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000.

Losing quarter finalists Vizakietuo Suohu, Menuosetuo Yiese, Seyieteiso Rutsa and Neizosetuo Kire fetched a cash prize of Rs. 5000 each.
 
Menuolelie Chiipuo bags junior wrestling champ
In wrestling junior category, Menuolelie Chiipuo, son of Thekrukilie Chiipuo of Zhadima village (NASA-C) emerged the champion title and pocketed Rs. 20,000.

He also received Lt Riikhietuolie (Akhie) Liezietsu Running Trophy for NASA Under 16 Wrestling Championship. 

Kevisoneiu Usou of Meriema village (NASA-C) bagged 2nd position. Son of Khrieletuo Usou, he fetched a cash prize of Rs. 15,000. Kevisazolie Solo, son of Akhrieu Solo of Kohima village (NASA-A) stood third position and awarded with Rs 10,000.

4th place winner Menuovilie Lhoungu, son of Visanyii Lhoungu of Dihoma village (NASA-B) was awarded with Rs. 7000. Losing quarter finalists Riidilhou Sote of Phekerkriezou village (NASA-C),  Vivor Rio of  Chiechama village (NASA –D) and Keneilhoulie Pielie of Gariphema village (NASA-D) have been awarded with Rs 3000 each.

 NASA-A emerges overall champion
NASA-A emerged overall champion of 63rd NASA meet 2022. NASA-A bagged 76 medals (31 Gold, 25 Silver and 20 Bronze), NASA –D: 6 Gold and 5 Silver, NASA –C: 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze and NASA–B: 2 Gold, 10 Silver and 3 Bronze.

Dziesengunuo Solo of Kohima village (NASA-A) bagged women’s athletics individual champion.

She won 3 Gold in 100 metres race, long jump, triple jump and 1 bronze in high jump.

Neiketoulie Belho of Kohima village (NASA-A) won men’s individual champion.

He secured 3 Gold in 100 metres race, 200 metres race, long jump and 1 bronze in high jump.

Northern Angami Public Organization (NAPO) president Zeneituo Yano graced the valedictory function as the special guest and gave away prize to the winners of wrestling event, athletics individual champions and overall champion.

Roko Angami, president Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) handed over prize to the winners of Sepaktakraw while Pele Khezhie, president, Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union (NCSU) and Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome,  treasurer  Angami Youth Organization (AYO) gave away prize to the winners of volleyball and football respectively.

The valedictory function was chaired by NASA vice president Viketoulie Solo while vote of thanks was proposed by Ruokuohelie Mere, convenor 63rd NASA Meet 2022.
