The Northern Angami Youth & Sports Association (NAYSA) Group D informed that the Chiechama Chapter of the 1st Presidential Trophy 2024 of NAYSA-D will take place on April 6 at Chiechama Local ground.
Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, president Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) will be the special guest.The event, featuring men football and women volleyball, will start from 9:00 AM onwards.
NAYSA-D assistant general secretary Neilalie Pielie will chair the ceremony while welcome address will be delivered by NAYSA- D general secretary Kezhangulie Kire.
The event will also witness introduction of Darts by Team One Nagaland (TON).
Mentionably, NAYSA-D launched this Presidential Trophy 2024 at Botsa in February this year.
NAYSA-D is an association of 12 villages in the Northern Angami.
With an endeavour to provide platform for upcoming sports talents in the area, this 1st Presidential Trophy has been initiated as a year-long league tournament.
The 12 villages are divided into two groups whereby one group consisting of 6 villages will be competing on every second Saturday of the month.
Pool A: Chiechama, Nachama, Seiyhama, Tuophema, Tsiemekhuma Bawe and Botsa. Pool- B: Gariphe Basa, Tuophe Phezou, Gariphema, Tsiemekhuma Basa, Seiyha Phesa and Teichiima.
The organizer hoped that the Trophy will promote more unity and exposure even among the member villages apart from providing platform for the sportspersons.
The tournament also provides platform for young upcoming artiste to belt out songs during intervals of the matches.
