Nobody should misuse Covenant of Reconciliation: GPRN/NSCN

Dimapur, August 31 (MExN): ‘Kilonser’ of the GPRN/NSCN Y. Wangtin Naga has stated that “Peace is a key for reconciliation and ultimate unification among the Nagas, be it  national workers or overground” and that “peace is the only tool to do away with hatred, jealousy, vengeance and distrust”. Stating this in a press note, Wangtin stated that “the peace in our hands is a gift of God and all must know how to use it for national salvation” besides “only peace can build our broken homes”. The ‘kilonser’ also pointed out that the covenant of reconciliation signed by the three top leaders was “a national property and nobody should misuse it”.

Pointing to an incident that “NSCN-IM men fired on one NSCN-K boy in Namsa gate on 8th August (hitting one innocent girl)”, Wangtin stated it cannot be justified. “So also, killing of NSCN rajapeyu Late Zaremo by NSCN-IM at Mekokla (Wokha) on 26th August is an unjustifiable act whatever the reason(s) IM may offer”, Wangtin stated.

The ‘kilonser’ also expressed shock with regard to the statement of 18th August “alleging the GPRN/NSCN and FGN coming together as ‘breach of trust and betrayal’ and warned that it would not tolerate, terming the two as aggressors and intruders”. “How comes the NSCN-IM claiming themselves to be a  national  government and  always trying to disturb the unity move among the Naga brothers. And why are they so reluctant to come closer to other Naga groups? Instead, I want them to move further towards the brethren to make one Naga government with one military centralized system”, stated Wangtin.

Describing himself as a “small national worker”, Wangtin stated that he was really shocked and concerned over the 27th August incident at Namsa where Late. Maj. Ngachonmi was killed by 6th AR. According to Wangtin, equally shocking was the condolence message of Mr. V. Horam Kilonser (NSCN-IM) who accused GPRN/NSCN cadre of nexus and attacking Late. Major and his cadres. “Here, I want Mr. V. Horam to submit me in full proof any of the NSCN cadre found involving in the incident. He said one Khaplang cadre spotted with long hair shot Major Ngachonmi from the back. Truth is my tool and I have immeasurable faith on it. I can surrender my everything, even my life but the truth cannot be defiled”, stated the press note.

Stating that he was “open and truthful to what is reality on the ground”, Wangtin pointed out that since he belonged to Mon district the “truth” was that in Mon, “90% of NSCN cadres are Konyaks and anyone who is found involved in 27th August incident will not be spared”. “May I therefore, appeal to Mr. Horam Kilonser to use any one including the inhabitants of Namsa-Tizit and IM cadres of Konyak community to trace out who has long hair, behind the killing of Late. Ngachonmi”.

Pointing out that “truth is as old as the creation of the universe and had existed with God and nobody can over-run it”, the press note stated that we must be “truthful to ourselves and befriend with what is right as it belongs to God”. “Kindly stop fooling the Nagas by illogical creation of foul episode and stand unshakably for the genuine cause truthfully”, Wangtin stated.
