DIMAPUR, JULY 7 (MExN): BMMU, RD Bhandari Block, Wokha, under the aegis of National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), Department of Rural Development inaugurated the Rainbow Cluster Level Federation Office on July 6 at Merapani village under Bhandari block. 

The NRLM CLF Office will serve as a catalyst for economic and social transformation by promoting collective action, fostering entrepreneurship, and enabling access to financial resources for the rural poor. It symbolizes the vision of NRLM to empower rural communities and create an inclusive and prosperous society, a press release issued by Chichanthung Shitiri, AC- SISD, NSRLM, BMMU RD Bhandari block stated. 

Rainbow CLF president, Thungchanbeni Humtsoe gave an overview on Rainbow CLF consisting of 12 VLOs, 77 active SHGs inclusive of 625 members across 24 villages with Community Investment Fund of ₹ 38, 47, 500 in their CLF account.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was dedicated by Rev Elis Odyuo, Pastor Merapani Baptist Church marking the official opening of the NRLM CLF Office.

Guest speaker, Samuel Kithan, ADPM, NSRLM DMMU Wokha in his speech emphasized on the significance of collective action, community empowerment, and sustainable development. He acknowledged the achievements and dedication of NRLM in driving positive change at the grassroots level. Kithan further iterated the role of community cadres in providing need- based support system to the SHGs and the rural community. This will foster ownership and accountability and to ensure that social capital is reinforced within the SHG fold, he added. 

During the inauguration session, aims and objectives of financial literacy camp were disseminated to the SHGs and rural communities by Kapani Kolakhe, Accountant, SBI Bhandari branch. 

The objective of this camp is to focus on awareness among the micro small and medium scale entrepreneurs about the various schemes of the bank with a view to motivate them to become self dependent by availing bank loans.

Under this, information have been provided on agricultural loans, social security schemes like PMJJY; PMSBY, government sponsored schemes, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, stand up India scheme and loans to self-help groups.

BPM, Bhandari Block, R Erenbeni Ngullie, delivered a short speech on rural development, livelihood promotion, and women's empowerment. Participants and BMMU staffs shared their insights, experiences, and best practices, encouraging collaborative learning and knowledge exchange.
