Political parties using clashes for mileage: MP Charenamei

DIMAPUR OCT 26 (MExN): Mani Charenamei, Lok Sabha MP from outer Manipur, expressing deep concern at the Karbi-Dimasa clashes in Assam has lamented how different political parties were trying to make political gains out of the clashes instead of coming forward with a helping hand to find solution to end the conflict.

The MP in a press release while expressing pain at the clashes between the two ‘inseparable’ communities, stated that political parties were attempting to gain political mileage from the bloodshed and thereby aggravating the situation further and dividing the innocent public on party lines. He stated that it was time for all to come forward and help both the communities find an amicable solution in the spirit of forgiveness keeping in mind that they were a people from the same region, interdependent on one another in building a common future. “The differences and disputes among us should be used as opportunities to understand one another better and to emerge as mature and civilized societies and not to harm or destroy one another” he sated all the while appealing for peace between the two.

The MP called upon the concerned authorities to leave no stone unturned to bring permanent peace and understanding between the two communities “with a human approach at the earliest possible time.”
