The necessity to stay connected has become a second skin for us today. Blame it on modern technology! So when Jio telecom provider fails even to give the basic minimum internet speed service (which, if I can recall the advert to provide internet speed second to none), then we feel robbed and betrayed.
Gone are the days when one was asked, “Do you have access to internet?” Gone are the days of GPRS & 2G connections. When subscribers were happily sailing on 3G internet network, then came the loud trumpeting 4G Jio network with all the perks and offers! And by Zeus!!! Jio was an instant love and I fell for it, acquiring multiple connections left and right (Like it or not, we all are victims of mass marketed advertisement).
True to its advert Jio internet was much better in every sense. But after the expiry of the offer period in March/April 2017, the Jio internet speed has been dropping and dropping and dropping in Tuensang Town and has become worst than 2G speed. Some may argue otherwise, but the Inconsistency of the speed cannot be argued. Verbal complaints were lodge to some distributers but to no avail. The only logical response they gave was to show internet speed test done in some speed test apps. How can that possibly solve the problem for us? Today, with all the telecom companies in a mad rush to seduce subscribers to its network we have all the options to migrate to a different and better network. I agree that losing one subscriber (me for instance) would not mean a dime for Jio, but unfortunately that would not solve the problem for all the thousand silent subscribers. I am moderate internet user who consumes just one to two gigabytes a day. But today internet streaming in Jio network has just become a nightmare resulting in throwing tantrums to an unsuspected friend sitting besides us. Mukesh Ambani became a knight in the shining armour for internet users like me when he introduced Jio internet connectivity, but the persons responsible (sidekicks) for Jio internet network in Tuensang has robbed him of that title and has left users scratching their head by failing to provide even a moderate consistent network to amuse themselves.
