• Sir-This is in regard to Bendangmeren Imsong, a noted social worker in the state in general and the Mokokchung district in particular.
For many years, he has been doing social work for the benefit of the people. And that he is deemed fit to be awarded as an outstanding social worker who has sacrificed a lot for the welfare of the people.
From highlighting public grievances in the print media and extending all possible help to the needy and the downtrodden section of the people has been his work. He is also, perhaps the only person in the state to get recognition certificates from various NGOs and govt. even upto the Chief Secretary level.
He is also accredited for official recognition from the district which has been recommended by the Governor which is under process. Some of the achievements of his works in 10 years of his service are as follows: from 1994-96 he worked as Information and Publicity Secretary in AKM and also worked as Special Correspondent for Ao Milen.
He also assisted patients going outside the state for treatments to places like Guahati, Jorhat, Vellore, Chennai, Delhi etc.
He also participated in the distribution of drinking water and food items to the patients at Civil Hospital and T.B Hospital Mokokchung.
He also attended various important programs and events like National Integration Camp at Nainital where he led a team of 10 persons from Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Mokokchung representing the state, attended the Tuensang Peace Rally organized by the NBCC Youth Department.
Attended the Good will team from ACYE Impur unit to Chang Mission Centre, Tuensang, Kiphire, Yimchunger, Sangtam and so on.
And one of the impacts through his expressions on the news paper about a need for another doctor at Changtongya Civil Hospital, a doctor was appointed just days after publishing it on the news paper at Changtongya Civil Hospital.
Again through his writings on the paper, the Assam govt. has transferred a Police Officer of Assam from Halwating check post for harassing Naga passengers passing through that gate.
Though these are just some of the achievements of Bendangmeren Imsong, he has indeed really worked hard for the people sacrificing for the needy.
These actions of him have been taken note of by the state govt. and that recently he has been recommended by the state govt. as a candidate for the National Youth Award 2004-05.
So kudos to Bendangmeren Imsong, a noted social worker who really works for the people and through this letter I convey warmest wishes to him in all his endeavors in the days to come.
