Renomme Coir Industries & Kivifoam Industries located at Thilixu village, Dimapur was engulfed in flames in the wee hours of March 6. Plant machineries estimated at over Rs. one Crore was reported to have been destroyed at the industrial unit, which manufactured coir and foam-based cushioning material. It required six fire trucks along with 20 fire-fighters around one and a half hours to control the flames. Electrical short-circuit was suspected to have caused the fire but it could not be ascertained.
