‘Stand with one united voice’

Vekronu Dozo
Kedage, Federal Government of Nagaland

My dear Naga people,

On this auspicious 65th Republic Day, I on behalf of the Federal Government of Nagaland would like to convey my warm greetings to one and all.

Many brave and patriotic warriors of our land had laid their life. We inevitably regret for the loss of their lives. May God guide their souls.

A memorandum was passed by the Simon Commission in the year 1929 stating that Nagaland was not a part of India. NNC was formed in the year 1946 and on 14th August 1947, Nagas asserted their inherent right of independence. The date of the Plebiscite was fixed originally on 16th May 1951 and 22nd March 1956 was declared as Republic Day. Federal Government of Nagaland then came into existence. These important political events in our history have protected and guided our national identity till today i.e. 65th Republic Day.

Under the banner of NNC and the father of the Naga Nation, AZ Phizo’s footprint, the Nagas have gained equality.
Federal Government of Nagaland (Yehzabo) aims to protect the wealth of our land – the rich vegetation, trees, animals, water, stones, oil etc and safeguard our land.

In order to preserve our land, the Customary Laws and the Yehzabo was used to bind the people together.

The leaders of the people have decided that in ten houses, one member will be selected to work for the Nation. The other nine houses and the affluent families took care of the nationalist workers. Eve today this trend is being followed.

Therefore, on this auspicious occasion of the 65th Republic Day, let us once again unequivocally reiterate that we are Independent Nation with all the rights and privileges thereof. Let us also stand with one united voice, be in obedience and work for the upliftment of the Nation.
